I'm a Mommy!

August 12, 2013
Well everyone, I would like to congratulate you on your new grandchild, Soeur Caldwell!! Its funny they do this whole family tree thing in a mission.  This means I am officially a mother now because I am training my Baby Bleu!!  Anyways, I have the privilege to train Soeur Caldwell from Provo, Utah.  She is a graduate of Mt. View High School (my same graduating year!).  We have a lot of connections from that! She is the best! She is a design major at BYU and I just love her view and take on things!!
Training a Blue is definitely a different experience! It has been fun to see all the "firsts" again! She gets so excited at things that, for me, have become so normal. It’s been a great reminder for me to always have the enthusiasm and excitement! I have pretty much spent the week in Lyon because that is where you pick new Bleus. I do have to say it was weird being on the other side of the process! It’s funny how the trainers are just as nervous and excited to get their Bleus as the Bleus are to get their Trainers! I feel so honored to be training! There weren’t that many missionaries selected for training this transfer.  It was amazing to see that 4 missionaries from my MTC group were selected as trainers: Me, Soeur Moderzitski, Soeur Luthi, and Elder Andersen. It was a blast to be with them! Honestly it was a blast to be with all the trainers.  We have the most FABULOUS missionaries in this mission! It’s unreal. I was excited to get back to my ville and get to work! It’s amazing how the Lord truly qualifies those He calls! I was talking with my District Leader last night and I was explaining to him that it was just like once I had my bleu...my French "clicked." I was carrying on conversations that I felt like I would NOT have been able to do before. I was using new words, phrases, and it just....clicked!  Now misunderstand, I definitely have much more "clicking" to do, but I was taken back by the love and confidence that the Savior has in me. Things are great here! I LOVE training and it has only been a week! I am super excited to continue the process. I remember the night before I got my bleu I made a distinct decision to go into it this assignment with complete confidence. And that’s what I did. From moment I had my bleu I had confidence in myself and in my Lord, Jesus Christ. I really think that is what produced the "click." So that is my challenge of the week. Tackle a task with confidence! I can testify that you will accomplish it with greater ease! (Hahaha! Wow, look at me...being so missionary like...extending an invitation to do something and testifying about it...Hahahaha)
I am really excited for this transfer!! Loads of great things are going to happen I can just feel it! I have the greatest District Leader, Elder Hapaira-Hansen! He has been in Toulouse the whole time I have been so we have become great friends! This is his first time being a district leader...he was the "district monkey" the past two transfers, which basically means he was the comp of the DL. He was/is a little nervous to assume the DL position, just like I was a little nervous to assume the Trainer position. He has great ideas and plans for this upcoming transfer and I am really excited about them! I also have Fabulous Zone Leaders! Elder Ashten and Elder Sagers! Yes mom...Elder Sagers! I think you know his mom. They are awesome. Elder Ashten has also been here with me the whole time and Elder Sagers came from Nice. Our district is packed full of amazing missionaries. I am really pumped for this transfer!! I hope it doesn’t fly by like the last one
Speaking of which, I miss Soeur Luthi. It was hard to say goodbye! It was especially weird going out and working the streets of Toulouse without her! I am praying for my last few transfers of my mission to return to Toulouse with her!
We found a new potential Amis.  He is atheist, so this should be fun!  We have a lesson with him today...please pray for us! We are teaching our other investigators and it is going! I am trying to figure out what they specifically need so we can help them progress! I want them to have a stronger desire. I just figure that they need to continue learning but more importantly UNDERSTANDING. I need to be sure he understands each principle. Ahhh, missionary work...its the greatest! I have been praying for weeks now about this but I am confident it will work out!  Some of our investigators refuse to be baptized and come up with excuse after excuse! AGENCY IS FRUSTRATING! But things are going to work out!! I also feel like we have more people to find! I know that there is someone here I am supposed to find! Where are they? Things are amazing though and I am blessed to be still serving in Toulouse!
Well that’s all I have time for this week!! Thanks for the photos! So cute...a classy Tea Party.  I was there in spirit! Continue to stay close to the Lord. Read and pray daily.
Love you all!! XOXO
