Camera Fail

This last week I would like to name it the CFW…camera fail week. I could not find my camera almost every day this week or I would find it place it somewhere I thought I would remember and if you know me at all couldn’t find it. So unfortunately no pictures of the food I made this week….but another week of success! Here is a nice list of the recipes I completed this week:
Coconut Hot Chocolate
Banana Muffins
Southwestern Egg rolls
Avocado Ranch
Cracker snacks
Banana Smoothie
“Best Mashed Potatoes Ever”
(if you want links to these recipes let me know!)

This last week was a lot of fun and also a lot of stresses! My nephew Gavin turned 1 and we partied it up on Saturday and watched the BYU basketball game ( which was definitely a stress!), Friday I got to see an AMAZING dance concert with some of the best people in the world! And Sunday I took my mom to the ER due to stomach pains. It was a HUGE scare especially since my dad was out of town and I had to take her all by myself, NOT FUN!

I am emotionally and physically very tired! I am excited for another week of cooking, its how I de-stress! As Julie from the movie Julie & Julia “You know what I love about cooking? I love that after a day when nothing is sure and when I say nothing, I mean nothing. You can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. That’s such a comfort.” Great movie. My favorites of this week were the healthy banana smoothie and the southwestern egg rolls! YUM! Hope everyone has a fantastic week! February is just a hop and a skip away!! Hurray for the month of LOVE!

6 for 6

I bet you all thought I failed….well PSYCH! I am 6 days for 6 days! I decided not to blog everyday since I barely have time to cook every night…it would’ve been toooo much! So I am going to blog my successes at the end….or in this case the beginning of the week. This week I made: Winter Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Vanilla Milk, Gooey Cheerios, Mini Lasagnas, and Fried Chicken! Wowzer it was quite a week!!
I am happy to inform I enjoyed everything I made! Since I have no boyfriend to taste test my makings I have something better!! My best friend Rylie, who also is a great little cooking enthusiast!

Dont they all look scrumptious! My favorites of this week were Day 6, Day 4, and Day 3.  As far as life goes this last week was great, I hope this current week is better though. It finally snowed here in Utah (BOO!) and so I trudged to school in the slush with freezing hands and a pink nose. Goodbye unexpected good weather and hello to the norm. BLAH. In other news Volleyball season started….FINALLY! So I got to spend my weekend watching my favorite sport, Go Cougs! The matches were very intense, especially Saturdays, I would highly recommend watching it….if possible. It was beyond entertaining! Until next post my friends!

Make it a good day for someone else!

31 day Pintrest Challenge

I have been a Pintrest addict for about 4 months now. I am obsessed. I have 14 “boards” and about 1413 “pins”. Pintrest is a picture sharing website that also gives you the link to that picture. So if you “pin” a picture onto your “board” you have categorized that picture in which you can look back on for future reference. One of my favorite parts of Pintrest are the pictures of food because if you follow the link it will take you to the recipe. I have tried about 4 recipes that I have “pinned” and have absolutely ADORED them. Due to my success with Pintrest recipes so far (and I recently watched Julie & Julia) I have come up with the 31 Day Pintrest Cooking Challenge! Everyday, for 31 days, I am going to make a recipe from Pintrest and tell you which are good and which flop. I am beginning this challenge Tuesday January 17, 2012….so today!  (Monday was a holiday). I would love for you to join me to help me weave out the good recipes from the plethora Pintrest has to offer!

Today I made “Winter Salad”.

It had Fuji apples, Asian pear, and pomegranate in it. I searched and search for Fuyu Permissions….but apparently Utah is not that fruit diverse. Other than that I was able to find what I needed. It was very delicious if you are a salad lover, I would recommend cutting back on the cabbage a bit and if you are feeling up to a little sugar some candied almonds would have made it even better, maybe even feta cheese?! Ooohhh the possibilities are endless! haha Over all delicious, next time I make it I am MOST DEFINITELY finding Fuyu Permissions. Until tomorrow! Hugs and Kisses!
