So are you ready
for this week’s saga!?! TRANSFER CALLS!!!!! (da da daaaaa!!) Transfer calls
happened Friday morning!! Obviously studying is an impossible task to
accomplish as you are anxiously awaiting a call that will tell you where you are
going to live for the next 6 weeks! The phone rang and we were FREAKED out!!!!
So excited!!! We made a bracket and I called it Transfer Madness (haha). We
predicted where everyone in our Zone was going--and if I may brag just a
bit...I did pretty well! So Soeur Bayles talked with President first and she is
getting transferred to Carcassonne and receiving a new Blue! (We were both
sooooo surprised)!! She has only served in big villes!! This will be quite a
change for her!!) Then it was my turn.... President told me 1st. I AM STAYING
IN TOULOUSE!!! YAY! I am sooooo excited!! I absolutely love it here!! The only
change is they added another equipe of sisters so I am in charge of the
Capitole side of the city! Which is the greatest!! I really lucked out! And the
second thing was: I am being made Senior
comp! As you can imagine my jaw about HIT THE FLOOR!!! I am finishing off Soeur
Luthi's training....well, more like we are finishing off each others training (haha)
:) She was in the MTC with me!! I love her to death!! She is a way hard worker
and not afraid to push outside her comfort zone! It’s going to be hard these
next few weeks...especially with our French ability but it will really force us
to learn French and learn fast!! I have begun to really study the gift of tongues
in depth this past week and how I can better qualify myself for it...because....
I AM GOING TO NEED IT!! This transfer is going to be a challenge...but it will
be fun because I know I am going to grow A TON.
The other highlight about transfer calls is I got to talk to Soeur
Mod on the phone!!! As you can imagine everyone is texting everyone seeing
where everyone is going. Well we get a
call and the phone gets handed to me and it was SOEUR MOD!!!!! This sounds
cheesy.... but we were both crying!!! (haha) it was sooooo fun to hear her voice and talk
with her!!!! I miss her SO much!!!! We have blues conference this week (a
training with all the blues that came in with me). It will be so fun to see everyone!!
I know for sure me and Soeur Mod are going to be such a sight to see.... crying,
hugging, more crying! She got transferred to a ville near Lyon and is in the
same situation as me.... Senior comp finishing training.... except she is
whitewashing an area! I will be praying for her a ton (haha).
This week was fabulous otherwise! We taught some solid lecons got a
new amis!!! But we will have to give them to the new Sister equipe because she
is now technically out of our sector. C'est la vie! Oh which reminds me.... we
moved to a new apartment!! It’s way nice!! Right along the river, with a
balcony! I will send pics next week! Because now I will be living with 3
others!! It will definitely be different!! The new sister equipe is Soeur
Reiniee and a new Blue! Soeur Reiniee has been out for quite a while, so it
will be nice' to have at least one experienced missionary!
This week we taught with La famille Peltzer!! They are awesome!! We
taught Marie-Antoinette with them because she won’t set a baptismal date! She
is MORE than ready! And its sooooo frustrating because she is ready for the
baptismal ordinances and I want her to have the gift of the Holy Ghost in her
life!! She attends church regularly and such...its difficult!! But the Peltzers
both bore strong testimonies on their conversions and not waiting to be
baptized! We are encouraging her to ask HF what she should do! I've been
praying like crazy!!! I am not trying to drag her to the font or anything but I
just want her to have the fullness of the gospel in her life...and baptism is
essential for that.... vital. It was also her birthday this past week so we
taught her than had "American" cookies for her! She brought sushi, a
flan, Pringles, soda, the works!! We weren’t expecting it and so we sang to her
and ate our junk food feast (haha). As
we were walking home it hit me that Soeur Bayles and I were probably the only
ones who knew about Marie-Antoinette’s birthday. We were probably the only ones to make it a
big deal, sing to her, wish her happy birthday, or make her feel special. And I
was sooooo grateful that HF put us in her path so she didn’t have to not feel
loved on her birthday! She turned 43! After I realized all of this, I almost
started crying. Heavenly Father is soooo aware of each of us! He loves
Marie-Antoinette sooooo much! And I feel honored that he sent me to help her
feel special and loved. Be soooo grateful for the lives you have, the support
of an amazing family, constant love and knowledge of HF's love! We are
blessed!! So anyways Marie-Antoinette was glowing when she said goodbye to us!!
She kept saying it was an "American" birthday!! And was loving every
minute of it! Anyways that’s an update of my one and only amis!!
Sooooo, Does anyone have great ideas or things we could try to
interest people?! Any good ways to work with the members, good activities, or
great ideas for contacting people?! I want to spice things up a bit and try
some new methods but would love some Richardson creativity! Maybe have a
brainstorm session and let me know!! Kind of keep in mind my location (big
city, Southern France, etc.)
I forgot my little paper I take notes on to write in my emails soooo
sorry this is all over the place.... its packed away somewhere in my new apartment!
(haha). I think that I have covered just about everything! Last night we ate at
La Famille Sworde’s house. They are an awesome family!! Anyways...That’s about
all I have for you! Keep praying for the people of France!! They need your
prayers!! This next few weeks are going to be really hard for Soeur Luthi and
me but God qualifies whom he calls!! He did not send me to France to drown!
I am glad to hear everything is going well at home!! Keep the
updates coming!! Sometimes I get teary-eyed thinking about all you at home!!!
Love you all more than I could ever say!! You are truly such a huge blessing in
my life. R5 forever!!! XOXOXO
